get your squat on

ARE YOU READY???

CrossFit Games Widget

The Crossfit games are next weekend! It is going to be so much fun, and I can't wait to see all these crazy athletes fighting for the win. I am excited for my friends... Jolie, Sage (for affiliate challenge), Josh, Dutch, OPT... and also my new friends Jocelyn and Tamara. It is going to be quite an event, and as ready as one can be, Jolie's ready. Nervous? Maybe a little.... but ready to fight nonetheless.

It is going to be an action packed week! We are going to have the biggest and longest slumber party of my life! Me, Greg, Jade, Dutch, Josh, Mary, Robb, Nicki, Coach B, and Sage! BBQ's, lots of pool time, and lots of good last minute training!

See ya'll there! I will be the one NOT participating, but getting tired just watching and screaming my face off for all my friends.

who??

iLift

I haven't been doing much trainin' lately. I have been distracted by planning a wedding, taking care of peeps at the gym, finishing up my second thesis, and playing play-doh with Jade.

So, I have been only training 3 days a week, and sometimes I get in 1 exercise on a 4th day. Funny thing is, I feel just as strong training 3-4 days part-time as I did training full time. I am still squatting and pulling a DL'ing and jerking and power cleaning pretty damn heavy. But my cleans and snatchin' suffers when I don't do them enough. I snatched an easy 83 the other day after not training for 4 days. So, part-time training at roughly 90ish % is enough to maintain my strength, but I doubt I will get much stronger. So, I am going to catch up on some stuff this week and then hit the barbell (my new eleiko) hard next week. 93kg snatch by the wedding, and 95 by Americans. That is my goal. let's get er done.

I finish grad school next month FINALLY- I will be graduated, thank Buddha. With that, I can get my mind back in competing again, and quit being a sissy. I didn't go to Nationals so I could breath for a while, and play instead of work. And focus on other things. But now I am getting the fe-vah.

so, regarding the picture over there on the right of the screen, I think that is my dear friend Sage. Ok, well I know it is her, but you almost couldn't tell with that sandbag resting on her face. She is wearing our iLift shirt in her competition to try and make the affiliate team for the games. I am so proud of her for becoming quite the studdly crossfitter.
